Tennessee is the Battleground for Trump's America
The South is being dismantled by people drunk on greed and high on power and it’s all happening right in front of our eyes. The rest of the country is watching, thinking, “this doesn’t affect me.” But it does. We are all connected, as Chief Seattle said, "We do not weave the web of life, we are merely a strand in it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves." So, even if you don’t live here, what’s happening to our voting rights will sure as shit affect you too. It’s like someone started pulling a thread and it’s all about to unravel. Or maybe it already has. Last week, was there, in the capital, raising some hell and watching it all.
Where were you when the Tennessee GOP tried to gerrymander black voters? Where were you when they redrew the map to bleed an entire state a sea of red? Were you when Marsha Blackburn & Donald Trump conspired to erase the people of Memphis? Where were you when Representative Pearson shouted “We are still here!?” Where were you when bald men with tiny hands, stuffed like potatoes into suits abused their power? Where were you when the Republican Party did Trump’s bloody bidding? Where were you when Justin Jones lit a cofederate flag on fire in the rotunda and said “We will not go back!?”
Yes I am appalled, but I’m not shocked. I see people online saying, “Boycott Tennessee!” But not all of us deserve to be punished. Why do our fellow brothers and sisters abandon us in our hour of need? Here are three things you can do to help.
Take a moment to sign the “Tennessee Is Home” petition share with friends. We need solidarity and over the coming weeks and months.
Please, if you can, show up to march this coming weekend as we mobilize Tennessee and head to the All Roads Lead to the South March in Montgomery, Alabama. And if you can’t make the pilgrimage to the rally, please donate to State Representative Justin Pearson’s Congress campaign. He is fighting truth with power.

You MarGO ! So wish I could go march. I will donate indeed. Even though I live in Austin, it’s still Texas and I see that stupid boycott message a lot over the last several years. There’s so much beauty here, and in Tennessee of which I visit regularly. ( the kids live in East Nashville ).
Wise words from Chief Seattle- and Hell yes it affects us all. In Louisiana , what happened in Virginia , what Abbot started in Texas, now Alabama and Mississippi - going to effect everyone - no red states no blue states…Hell Texas was blue before and with the late but ever so great Ann Richards- I hate that divisive use of colors. More like good people everywhere!!!!! With some really corrupt racist misogynistic religious extremists running the show- for now…
