Your tribute is beautifully written, Margo Price. My first thought upon reading the bad news about Kris Krstofferson was of you, because I know you hold him in high esteem and I knew the news would break your heart.

“Learning every bridge you cross

Is burning down before you're off

And running like the devil just in time … Take it all, take it easy, 'till it's over“

(Border Lord, Kris Kristofferson)

Read Margo Price's comments! You are a good person and a great performer Margo Price! Caught your show a while back at Del Lago Hotel and Casino in upstate NY. Totally impressed to say the least 👏

A tribute worthy of him. His music was pivotal for me. The more I know of you, the more I’m glad to follow you and your music.

Beautiful account of your connection to Kris. I was fortunate to have photographed Kris in Greenwich Village at both the Bitter End and the Gaslight Cafe while I was still in high school. The those photos have finally seen the light of day in my book (Eye Of The Music). I also photographed him with Rita Coolidge and most recently at The Grammy Museum, although I realize now that was back in 2013. In between those years, he became a legend of course, with his multi talents. Now his songs will have to live on without him, but they will live on with you Margo, and all the generations of lives he touched. Thank you for this telling tribute to Kris ...

I have always been thankful my Daddy was from Nashville and raised me on Kris’s music, among many others of that era. He was special and your time with him sounds just as special. Hearing some of his music today made me cry. Nostalgia for sure, for my childhood, my Dad, my aunt, Johnny, Willie, Waylon, Kris, and the Highwaymen, just those old times. We need more people like Kris and like you! Keep rocking and writing Margo. These are the times we need it all the most. Much love and sympathy

I was a college freshman in Austin in 1995. That year I was fortunate to be transformed by numerous musical experiences across the spectrum, including my first Willie concert at the old Backyard (Teatro and Spirit era Willie, no less). But two shows that year really stick with me to this day: seeing Buddy Guy blow the roof off of the old Liberty Lunch club on a random weeknight with a crowd of less than 200 people; and seeing Kris alone on stage at the old Antone’s on 29th St (before they moved downtown).

He was a giant, simply put, speaking and singing his truth as only a true artist can. The Silver Tongued Devil remains a desert island disc for me and so many others. I’ll always be sad that I was a little too young to see Townes before he was gone, but I can always say I saw Kris and that he was the real deal through and through.

Thanks for sharing your great memories of Kris with us, and for carrying the torch forward!

Beautiful tribute. I've loved Kris for 50+ years, and you captured his essence so beautifully. Going to a Kris concert (and I'm sure performing with Kris) was a spiritual experience in every sense of the word when you understand Spirit. Thank you, Margo. He changed everything. And always remember, Love is the Way. <3

What a beautiful tribute. Thank you for sharing. I only saw him once live - he stepped in to open for Willie when Merle passed away in 2016. Such a brilliant songwriter and man.

What a beautiful tribute to a true legend. My mother was a huge fan. I imagine she was one of the first to welcome him to the other side.
